Hugo Mellander is founder and President of Traffic Safety Research & Engineering AB. He is a member of the IRCOBI (International Committee on the Biomechanics of Impact) Council and past President of AAAM (Association for the Advancement of Automotive Engineering).
He has previously worked in advanced engineering and has been Director of Crash Safety Engineering at Volvo Cars.
He has over thirty years of experience in impact biomechanics, development and testing of crash safety systems.
He was given the NHTSA Award For Safety Engineering Excellence in 1987 and he received on behalf of Volvo the Prince Michael Safety Award for an integrated child booster seat in 1990.
He has published over thirty technical papers.
