Your results should look something like this chart, which actually shows the number of tonnes of carbon dioxide per person per year emitted from each of the countries, rearranged in rank order of personal emissions.

From the task you should have deduced the scale of some of the environmental problems and also have thought about some of the political and social implications. In developed countries we are each responsible for emitting 10 to 20 tonnes of carbon dioxide per year. Contrast this with the vast majority of the worlds population who produce a few tonnes each per year. If the peoples in India, Brazil and China double their standard of living (as they undoubtedly wish to do) then the world annual consumption of fossil fuels could increase dramatically accompanied by vast quantities of greenhouse gases.
