STAGE 10

COMMISSIONING AND SAMPLING

Attendance of product designer and mouldmaker at the trials is very desirable since this is the time to agree on, and document, any modification or rectification to the tool. Ideally, samples should be moulded in the designated grade of material, using the correct processing conditions on the specified model of moulding machine where possible and all processing data recorded for future use. (Some useful sample forms for recording data are included).

Most contracts specify that, if initial tool trials have not taken place within 30 days, final payments should nevertheless be made. However, circumstances may dictate that final payment arrangements may be altered by agreement between the moulder and whoever is acting as the project banker.
