STAGE 9

PRE-DELIVERY MOULD INSPECTION

On completion, the mouldmaker should inspect each mould and compile a list of all the checks he makes (an example check list is included). This list should accompany the tool delivery and throughout the trials. The mouldmaker should verify the checks which certify that the mould is not only correct to tool drawings, including critical characteristics as agreed at Stage 5, but that all the mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, mould temperature control and cooling systems function as designed.

Any aspect of the tool which does not conform to the agreed specification is best rectified before the mould trials.

This is frequently a staged payment point so the tool trial must take place without delay even of the start of production is not imminent.
