STAGE 1

FROM CONCEPT TO PRODUCT DESIGN

The end user of the moulded product must define the usage and performance expectations of the moulded components along with the target costs, anticipated production volumes and marketing launch dates. An industrial designer or design engineer needs this information for discussion with the moulders and mouldmakers. It could also determine the need for prototyping by whatever method is appropriate.

UK mould designers, mouldmakers and moulders in general are regarded as class leaders. In order to utilise their experience and expertise effectively they need to be trusted in their professional judgements and fully involved from the outset of a project.

The customer may already have internal teams with key personnel from design, sales, marketing, production and purchasing but early involvement of the mouldmaking and moulding providers is vital to ensure positive contribution to the project cost-effectiveness throughout and also to help in reducing the time to market.
