The Verification/Certification Process

Management reviews should be documented. An agenda is issued before the meeting and the Management Representative makes sure he has all the relevant information on the performance of the EMS to hand. At the meeting minutes are taken of the issues in the order they appear on the agenda. These issues include:
- Environmental complaints have these been resolved
- Results of audits (internal and external) have audit recommendations been put into action
- Company environmental policy - is it still suitable in light of changes to the company, views of interested parties, market considerations, new environmental concerns, etc.
- Objectives and targets are these still suitable, if targets are not being met, changes to the improvement programme or management system may be required
- EMS manual and procedures does it need revising
- Training is it up-to date
- Legislation are there any changes in legislation that we need to be aware of
- Any other business
