Definition: Waste was originally defined by the European Framework directive on Waste (75/442/EEC) which was subsequently amended by (91/156/EEC), in 1991. Waste is currently defined as: "Any substance or object in the categories set out in annex 1 (of the directive) for which the holder discards or intends or is required to discard" |
