Introduction: Approaches to Air Pollution Control

 

In controlling air pollution we can take three approaches:

  1. Control the generation/release of the pollutant.
  2. Capture the pollutant before release to the atmosphere. - So called "end of pipe” solutions which will form the main portion of our study.
  3. Dilute and disperse.

From an environmental point of view these are in decreasing order of preference.
