Section 1.

Key Performance Indicators; this is a visual method of displaying a companies achievements against targets. The chart format displays the four levels of a management information system; trends & targets, analysis of performance, improvement actions and measurement of the results of the improvement actions.

This method of performance monitoring can also be used by each production area to track its' achievement against targets. These are known as Level 2 K.P.I's.

Key Performance Indicators are also an efficient tool for tracking the overall performance of a business and will assist with making business review meetings more focused.

Section 2. Production Documentation; these sheets are used to provide timely and visual information with regardes to the activities within a production area. They show current achievements and variances from target and provide information which may require a short term recovery plan, or, a longer term corrective action. In this way, they provide the information to support the Measures of Performance.
Section 3. Visual Quality Control; measured items are; machine or process capability, number of outstanding concerns and a Key Performance Indicator monitoring scrap or non-conforming product.
