The manufacturer is the person who assumes responsibility for the design and construction of a product covered by the Directive.

What are the responsibilities of the manufacturer ?

The manufacturer bears responsibility for :

• Design and construction of the product in accordance with the protection requirements laid down in the EMC Directive;
• Following the procedures for certification of the conformity of the product with the EMC requirements laid down in the Directive.

Which are the obligations incumbent on the manufacturer ?

The EMC Directive defines the following obligations :

• CE Marking
• EC Declaration of Conformity
• The arrangements for holding EC declaration of conformity together with the Technical Construction File.
