CENELEC (the European Organisation for Electrotechnical Standardisation) is the European standards making body, which has been mandated by the Commission of the EU to produce EMC standards for use with the European EMC Directive. In particular the TC 210 works on the development of the Generic and Product Family Standards.

In the TC 210, in general, no Basic Standards will be developed, because this is a work of IEC Committees, but sometimes when there are not yet IEC publications, the WG2 of CENELEC may prepare such standards. The CENELEC Standards will be called ENXXXXX.
