The purpose of the test report is to support the EC declaration of conformity in the event of a dispute with the competent authority defined in the EMC Directive.

The work carried out by the EMC test laboratory shall be covered by a test report, which clearly presents the test results and all other relevant information.

According to EN45001, which gives the general criteria for the operation of testing laboratories at least the information given below shall be included in the test report

Name, address, etc. of the manufacturer or his representative
Description of apparatus
Manufacturer, model, type, serial number of apparatus
Standards applied
Details of auxillary equipment
Physical arrangement of test set-up
Operational mode(s) during tests
Test levels applied
Emission levels measured
Test results and product specific performance criteria, response from apparatus, monitored or observed during exposure from test signal (immunity only)
Test Instrumentation
Name of test personnel
Dates of testing and final report
Signature of responsible person

A test report shall not include any advice or recommendations arising from the test results.
