The natural frequencies are the frequencies at which the structure naturally tends to vibrate if it is subjected to a disturbance.
The deformed shape of the structure at a specific natural frequency is referred to as mode shape.
Natural frequencies and mode shapes are function of the structure properties (material, thickness...) and boundary conditions. They are independent of loading.
