Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control Directive (IPPC) (96/61/EC) |
Establishes an authorization system requiring certain processes to obtain an integrated operating permit that lays down limit values for emissions to air, water and land. The IPPC Directive has been based to a great extent on the UK., however, it covers a broader range of industries than are already subject to IPC. The permits that will be issued in accordance with IPPC will also be broader in their scope than existing IPC authorisations, covering areas such as energy efficiency, noise, consumption of raw materials and site restoration after closure. |
If the new coating process if affected by IPPC, an authorisation to operate the process must be applied for prior to operation |
