It is recommended that a company should not embark upon compiling a Register of Environmental Regulations until an evaluation of its environmental effects has been undertaken, or a Register of Environmental Effects been drafted. It may then be possible to conduct a preliminary search through the relevant legislation through linking the entries on the Register of Significant Environmental Effects with the five categories of effects and the applicable environmental legislation.
