Responsibilities

The board of directors are responsible for making sure that the company is in compliance with all relevant UK and European legislation. This also includes adherence to health and safety legislation and environmental provisions. The operations director is charged with the responsibility for making sure that the Register of Regulations is compiled and maintained.

Scope
The procedure gives an overview of the activities of the board of directors, particularly the operations director, concerning the impact of current and future environmental health and safety legislation.

Procedure
Regular meetings of the board of directors discuss the impacts of current and proposed legislation on the business. The operations director implements any decisions made on environmental/health and safety impacts Where applicable, the operations director will contact the following regulatory bodies for advice on legislation:

  • Environment Agency: Schedule A process authorisations and controlled water protection.
  • Green Field Borough Council.
  • The company's Environmental Steering Committee (ESC) are notified by the operations director when amendments to the register are necessary, and lists the details for the next ESC meeting.
