The Measure

The overall performance of a single piece of equipment, or even an entire factory, will always be governed by the cumulative impact of 3 factors:
- Availability - Performance Rate (which includes machine speed) - Quality Rate

There is a very simple, but profoundly important performance measure that makes this information visible so that 'blind buying' can be made a thing of the past.

This is called Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and it combines these 3 key parameters into a single measure of performance.
