The figure shows the variation of the cornering force dependent on the side slip angle, using the wheel load as a parameter. The degressive characteristic shows that with increasing slip angles, beyond 3°, a considerable degressive characteristic leads to a flattening of the curve. In other words, the transferrable cornering force capability drops with higher side slip angles. Increasing loads however increase the capacity to transfer forces.
