1.5 Single-Track Suspension Model
1.5.1 Double-axle Vehicle with bending resistant Structure
In single-track suspension models, the body is not considered as a point mass but as a mass inflicted beam. In its simplest form, the single track vehicle consists of the model of a two-axle vehicle with a rigid body, i.e. a flexurally stiff beam.
First we need to formulate the differential equations. The single-track suspension model for a two-axle vehicle according to the figure has four degrees of freedom:
- lift and pitch of the body,
- lift of front and rear axles.
