Types of Control Chart

There are, in fact, several different charts, but each is used in essentially the same way.

Each chart belongs to one of two types:

• those which monitor variable data
• those which monitor attribute data

Let's look at the differences between the two types of data and at the charts which can be used to monitor each type.
