The injection moulding process, consists of four stages:
1. Injection.
2. Packing.
3. Cooling.
4. Ejection.
During the injection and packing stages, the polymer is molten and experiences deformations which result in stresses. At the end of the packing stage and during the cooling and ejection stage, the polymer material becomes solid.
