The illustration shows the conflicting targets that result in the context of the optimisation of aerodynamics. In a direct comparison, the demands for a low air resistance and additional functions for specific areas of the vehicle are presented.
The inclination of the windshield does not prove to be as decisive a measure from the point of aerodynamics as is often considered. The air resistance, in fact, drops with an increased inclination, however no distinct drop in the resistance can be noticed beyond an angle of 60°. These angles however prove to be disadvantageous from the point of view of the climate control of the passenger cabin.
