By the high numbers of items, which are based now on equal parts, the costs are lowered at simultaneous increase of quality, where the customer benefits from. Here also the suppliers may not be ignored. Only together with them it has become possible to optimise costs, quality and delivery streams by the platform strategy. By the early integration of the suppliers into the product generation process, even a co-designing of the product definition is possible for them. Aspects of use, which result from the conversion of the platform strategy, are represented in this figure.
As a substantial aspect of a consistently transferred platform strategy the flexibility is to be regarded. The platforms, which consist of equal parts, system parts or modules, must be kept technical on a current status to be able to integrate the innovations at very small expenditure. Besides this integration must be attainable in a time as short as possible, so that can be reacted very fast to new requests of the market. Thereby one tries to advance world-wide flexibly towards the customer's requests, that are underlying a constant change. A multiplicity of models to favourable prices and model changing cycles, corresponding to real market conditions, are provided as several selections to choose from.
