The torque characteristic of a visco-hydraulic clutch can be varied in a within a wide range from an almost linear to an extremely degressive course over the differential speed.
Since the physical processes occurring in a visco-hydraulic clutch cannot be accurately determined when slit lamellae are used, the following general equation proved in practice is used to mathematically describe a degressive clutch characteristic.
