The data for this exercise comes from the same car spray-painting process that we used in the section on u-Charts. The same defect characteristics were monitored and the information recorded on a u-Chart. In this exercise, however, we will be using data from 20 subgroups, rather than only 10.
You can print out a copy of the completed chart to use during the exercise. The table below shows the section of the data recording area that will be used in the exercise.
