What is the Purpose of Having such a Programme?

The Environmental Improvement Programme (EIP) is not a formal term and some companies may call it something different such as a Management Improvement programme. For the purpose of this module, it will be termed EIP from herein. The EIP should be designed to set the objective, which has been the focus of Unit 2, and should incorporate the actions and the targets set to achieve the objective. This in turn will enable the company to clearly see if the goals that they are setting themselves, as identified within their environmental policy are being achieved, and in turn, whether their EMS is operating effectively.
