The design and power flow diagram of the 16-speed transmission shown in the previous slide is presented here. 8 ratios can be derived by using the front mounted gear pair along with the 4 ratios of the main gearbox. In order to derive 8 further speeds, the rear mounted planetary train can be engaged.
