The load carrying capacity of the spring is determined by the product of positive pressure and effective surface area. Particularly in the case of rolling lobe bellows, a possibility of direct influence is available since the effective cross-sectional area is determined by the external contour of the piston.
Further, it is possible to include an additional volume in the form of an air chamber (increase of hth) in order to realise a less progressive spring rate.
