The Soderberg curve is too conservative and it does not match the reality, this kind of correction is used when there is a great uncertainty about the loads because with this method we can obtain a safety coefficient.
If we consider the results obtained in the laboratory, they are between the Goodman and Gerber curves. As final conclusion we can state that the most used criterium is Goodman´s, the reason for this is that this criterium is a little more conservative than Gerber's.
