The concept of adaptive front lighting takes into consideration differing driving and environmental conditions. Numerous sensors cover a vast amount of data on the basis of which actuators are operated electronically. The sensors measure parameters related to vehicle dynamics such as the pitch, steering angle or yaw rate. This data in combination with additional information related to the instantaneous conditions of daylight, rain or the amount of dirt on the headlamp, serves as input to a central electronic unit. Using actuators, the light is then switched on or off, dimmed, the headlamp wash activated or the light distribution changed.
