The formula for calculating 1 sigma unit for the individual values is ÷ d2, where d2 is another control chart constant whose value depends on the size of the subgroups used.
The appropriate value of d2 for use with subgroups of size 5 is 2.326, as you can see from the bottom left hand section of your calculation sheet. This value, along with the value for which you calculated in the previous exercise, has been entered onto the sheet below for you. Complete the calculation for 1 sigma, and enter it into the first box outlined in red, then multiply it by 6 and enter this value of 6 sigma in the second outlined box.
