Energy Consumption
Figures 3 & 4 indicate the projected demand in energy for the period 1975 - 2050. Industrial regions have the largest responsibility for energy consumption and these continue to increase as population and economies grow. It is expected that the use of fossil fuels (oil, gas and coal) in the US and Europe by 2010 will decrease and the consumption of modern biofuels, nuclear and renewable resources rise. Although, in developing nations (Asia & Pacific, Latin American & Caribbean and Africa) fossil fuels demand will increase by the 2050.
