How to Prepare an XmR Chart
In this unit we will be looking at how to prepare an
Individual & Moving Range (XmR) Chart
for use in the workplace. On completion of the unit, you will be
able to:
- calculate correctly the means of the individual and moving range
values
- calculate correctly the upper and lower
control limits for the X and mR graphs on a plotted chart,
from given data, using the appropriate formulae.
- record this information both graphically and numerically on the
plotted chart
- calculate the capability of the process
in terms of both Cp and
Cpk values.
This module should take about 50 minutes to complete.
