SPC is grounded in Probability Theory, and this is what we will be looking at in this section. But don't worry. Just take it gently and everything will be all right!
You will see from this section that you don't need to be a mathematical genius to use SPC. We will be looking in straightforward terms at those elements in the theory which are of greatest importance in SPC, such as sampling and distributions.
The aim of this section is to give you a background to the underlying concepts of SPC, not to teach you statistics!
