As a postscript on interruptions:
All of us are the recipients of interruptions. Rarely do we
recognise ourselves as the causes of interruptions.
One of the basic tenents of effective time management is to
avoid wasting time of others.
- Don't initiate an interruption unless the importance
justifies.
- Don't take offence if the other person postpones action or
refers you to someone else.
- Don't cause self interruptions (e.g. unnecessary trips to
the coffee machine).
- Don't use interruptions as an excuse to procrastinate.
