The techniques used to aid efficiency were:

• Alison used a diary (the filofax)
• She prevented calls from disrupting her meeting
• She returned Mr. Jones's phone call at hte specified time

The techniques that were missed were:

• Alison didn't make a specific date in her telephone conversation
• She'd forgotten what the meeting was about. She eithr didn't take notes, or if she had, she didn't use them
• Not enough notice was given for the meeting that afternoon
