Statistical Process Control is...
Statistical Process Control is
a toolkit which plays an integral part in any system designed to
improve the quality of a process' outputs. It is made up of a set
of different tasks:
- monitoring the performance of a process by assessing its inputs
and outputs against pre-determined standards
- interpreting the data provided by the monitoring to assess the
process' effectiveness
- deciding upon and taking the appropriate action to:
- improve the performance of the process as a whole
- remove a problem adversely affecting the process' performance
