Communicating the EIP

Internal communication should be as part of the normal process used to regularly report progress on achievement of the company's environmental policy.

The EIP can also be reported externally. Some companies produce small booklets on their environmental performance which give the link between the objectives and targets and the environmental policy and any actions that could have an impact upon stakeholders.

It is essential that the momentum of regular reports of the EIP is maintained in order to cement employee interest and involvement. The company needs to keep highlighting their progress set against the environmental policy in order to portray the fact the relevant areas are being focused upon.
