Tally Charts

Julie Evans, the manageress of a shoe shop, has taken delivery of the first supplies of a completely new range of ladies' shoes. She wants to monitor how many pairs of these shoes she sells, and in what sizes. She has decided to keep a tally chart of every pair of shoes which are sold over the next 10 days.

She takes a large sheet of paper and divides it into 6 horizontal sections, one for each size of shoe she has in stock (i.e. size 3 to size 8). She also adds vertical lines to divide the chart into 10 equal sections, so that she can record the number of shoes sold each day.

You may find it useful to make a printout of this chart for use later on. Click on the link for a printable version.
