Lean and Six Sigma Integration

John Bicheno, of the Lean Enterprise Research Centre at the Cardiff Business School, and author of a number of books on Lean techniques, talks about the integration of Lean and Six Sigma.

Tracing both movements back to the work of W. Edwards Deming, this presentation looks at how both the DMAIC steps of Six Sigma, and the five steps of Lean can be related to Deming's PDCA cycle. The presentation also looks to the broader context of the Lean Enterprise as a whole, wherein Lean and Six Sigma are just two of many partners.
